Clearance Puppy - The best of them- all. |
| Barked: Wed Nov 4, '09 11:59am PST | | | | | | Hey Guys, I was wondering, Kay. If anyone went to the health forum and found my thread about Chloe having a hard belly, Well she still does.. And she was panting this morning so I don't know what to do and I've decided maybe going to the vet would be a good idea. She's had bad gas, and stinky too, Hard belly and today panting.
Weird thing though is she's pooping and drinking a good amount of water, and eating fine (not as much but a good enough amount)
Now I want to get a full on check up for her, including blood tests and maybe tilters or whatever they are called. Does anyone know what I should all ask for when I go into this check up/exam?
I'm going to ask if he can determine a good time for her to get her spay and stuff and - well yeah.
Does anyone have any good info on waht I should ask..I'm going to a new vet (3rd times the charm right?) He's suppose to be just amazing so we shall see =] He's pro raw (after he sees results, but not 100% for it before results) Mmm...I dunno what else too say.

Panting is supposed to be a sign of anxiety or distress, maybe from pain? I hope not though. I really don't know what could be wrong when the symptom is a hard belly but please let us know when you do!!
I don't know about a full blood panal (to use as a baseline) when she's sick...it might make the levels off...
Titering, unless she hasn't gotten her vaccines in years, I see no need to. Distemper and parvo last about 7 years, at least. You said lyme wasn't a problem for your area? And bordetella is 6 months anyway and only if you kennel. Then there's leptospirosis, I don't know if you're in a risk area for that. If you are, then I guess you could.
Ask about nosode vaccines. I don't know if you can get rabies as that...I haven't read much about it, but they're safer than regular vaccines and only holistic vets give nosode vaccines I think.

I don't think she's actually sick just a stink ball waiting to explode (or for you to get comfy)
As for the panting, I'm not sure if it's a symptom or her being bad in the mornign and doing something. Cause she was up before me and just bookin it everywhere I think she jsut jumped on the bed and gave me kisses a lot then laid down and panted. I don't know if she was active or if it actually is a symptom.
I'm hoping tomorrow she'll be better so I can actually do an exam and get to know the vet, not when she's sick and he has a chance to (maybe) put down raw.

| Barked: Wed Nov 4, '09 12:46pm PST | | | | | | Yeah I read the symptoms of bloat it it creeped me out, She has almose all of them but drooling...and being dead cause it's been two days..
I was reading some things that it could be and one was maybe worms, but before I got her, we saw her records and holy cow she got SO many dewormering meds, Like almost everyweek or something. The list is huge. I can't see her having worms cause of it.
I doubt its the bunny, That was a week and a bit ago. So these are late sypmtoms. I think it might be left over ligthly peppered chicken, or just when she was eating a RMB she ingested more air then usual?
What are Nosodes? I'm looking at them and they are talking about like urine, or pus or blood from something dead or dieased?
