Eeep sorry for the double post but I wanted to respond about protein levels.

That does seem like really low protein for a dog food. Maybe next time try to get the version that is not "LITE". I am feeding the Lamb and Rice formula, which has 23% protein (still less than I like). Diamond Naturals also has a chicken formula with %26 protein, a beef formula with %25 percent, a large breed formula with %23, and an extreme athlete formula (which is probably my pick of the bunch, but I haven't been able to find it here; does have a pretty high fat content though) which has %32 protein. The LITE formulas are lower fat, but also much lower protein than the regular ones.

Yeah, I understand, I just got 3 cases (36 cans)of whole earth farms canned because I cant get it locally and for that price, its a steal ( plus its on sale), the free shipping offer does not come around very often, so I try to take advantage of it.
You can use the code CATCHAT or DOGTALK which is 20% off and it doesent expire.

Rosie has been eating diamonds naturals regular but i wanted to try puppy food and the whole earth farms seems like an awesome food with a good deal of free shipping.

A 60 lb, moderately active dog needs about 1300 kcal per day. The Diamond Naturals Lamb Light has 275 kcal per cup. He needs about
4 3/4 cup per day. The Blue Buffalo Fish has 490 kcal per cup. He needs about 2.6 cups per day. so it won't cost you much more for the Blue Buffalo and your dog will be much healthier. If you go with the Blue Buffalo I warn you DO NOT OVERFEED. He will get the runs and it will not be because it is "too rich" as some people say. It is because they feed "too much."

I don't feed Hoover the lite version. He is eating the Lamb and Rice regular adult now. Hoover is not actually mine, he is a GDF pup in training, so I cannot just feed him whatever I want (otherwise he would be on Blue like our other lab, Juniper). Right now its Diamond Naturals or Purina One, and Diamond definitely wins that one.

Oh and Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice Adult is 337 kcal/cup. Still lower than Blue but a good bit higher than the Lite formula. Hoover gets 3 1/3 cups per day right now (lowering gradually to 3 cups cuz he is getting chunky) and usually gets something added to his evening meal, like salmon, raw eggs, or cottage cheese to add a little extra protein.
