Just a quick question for those of you dogsters who feel diamond naturals: how is your dogs coat? My mom currently has the 2 dogs on Iams yuckk. I want to switch Kashmir because I can actually afford to buy her food now. Anything i should know about this brand? the ingredients seem really good and its sold at the Tractor Supply Co and the price seems really good as well.

Sorry, I've never fed Diamond Naturals. But, do they carry Premium Edge, it seems to be a bit better than Diamond Naturals and costs only a little bit more per bag? Or Whole Earth farms which is better than both brands and costs less than Premium Edge and just about 10 - 20 cents more per pound than Diamond Naturals? Usually these can be found at feed/tractor and supply stores.

I did feed Diamond Naturals for about 9 months. Now I plan on using it in rotation, but it'll be around February before we use it again as I'm going to be getting Solid Gold in December.
The coat quality on DN, as I remember and as can be seen in pictures from when I fed it, was better than on grocery store brands.

I fed diamond naturals to the GSD/lab mix I was raising and training to be a service dog. Her coat was good and she was healthy for as long as I had her. It did improve from when i first got her I would have fed Chicken Soup but she ate a LOT.

I feed one of diamonds premium foods: Chicken soup for the dog lovers soul.
The Bostons do great on it! Plus Chicken Soup gaurantees that the meat and fish comes from sources that do not use ethoxyquins!

I was feeding my dogs a rotation of taste of the wild, canadae, and a few others as well as the chicken soup. I would feed some raw and home cooked.
My Mother fed her Bostons just the chicken soup and her dogs were shinier and looked better than my dogs! I switched over and mostly feed the chicken soup now.

We used to feed Diamond naturals Lamb and Rice. Our coats and breath was good on this food.

Oh that is awesome to know! Kashmir will be 3 soon and i dont want her coat to start to get dry and flaky like my older boxer who is 7. That is the main reason I want to switch their food. I do give my older dog Zoe a fish oil supplement, but I really want to see both of them on a good food. We do feed them quite a big bowl of food and it just goes right through them. silenced I might go run up to the tractor supply co and grab a small bag and see if they like it. That way I can add it in and they should be all ready to eat it. We have a 48 lb bag from Costco to go through first.

It's definetly better than Iams! I'd say go for it!
I do know that when my doxie ate some D Naturals sample
his poop was sort of soft, and it never is otherwise. He has ate prem edge just fine and is on TOTW right now.

Currently I have the same problem Bama. Kashmir is on the weight control Iams, and her poops are huge and soft and she goes more often than she used to. I cant wait to switch her!

Most Tractor Supplies also carry Taste of the Wild, which is also a good food that you might want to look into. Diamond Naturals is pretty much the same as the Kirkland brand, which we used to feed and were happy with. You can't beat the quality for that price.
