Ityped out a reply then read further through the thread and found out everything I was saying has already been suggested. laugh out loud

One thing I can add however is how I managed Molly's food aggression and finding candy wrappers. At first I tried chasing after and taking the item away. The problem there was that if she felt the object had too much food value I was risking a bite to take it away. So I just taught her to "throw it away". Every time she found something like a food wrapper I'd tell her to "throw it away". I'd then lead her to the trash and give her a cookie when she dropped the food wrapper. Now every time she finds something like that on the floor she brings it to me and we take it into the kitchen and throw it away. She loves the game and gets a cookie when she complies. Win/win.

First you teach a "drop it" command. Next when you catch the dog with a food wrapper you lure it to where the trash can is. At first don't insist on putting it into the can. Just teach the dog to drop it near the trash. When the dog drops the item click and treat. Usually the dog will take the treat and go away to eat it. That's when you pick up the item and put it into the trash.

One possible pitfall to this method is that Molly figured out that she will get a treat no matter how small the wrapper is so she will tear it in half and bring me one half and later the other half = two cookies. laugh out loud
