On October 21st, my Mommy came to the Dogster website and found my picture on the front page of Dogster as Dog of the Week. She was in shock and amazed that I could be awarded such an honor. I got so many rosettes, pmails, furiend requests, stars and group messages. I wanted to take the time to thank everyone for congratulating me and sharing this with me. It's a one in a lifetime experience. I love my family but I really love my furiends on Dogster. Thank you all for the kind words. It meant alot to me. I hope to see you all on the front page of Dogster someday too. You all are so deserving of this. ~Flash~

I'm Dog of the Week...

My Mommy came to Dogster this morning and she was just on her first cup of coffee. She glanced at the front page of Dogster and there was my picture. She thought she was seeing things being that she was half asleep. She had to get closer to the computer screen to realize that I was awarded Dog of the Week. Mommy teared up and called my Daddy who was at work. Daddy couldn't believe it either. I'm just a mix breed Basset Hound that some folks wouldn't think deserve this kind of award. But the fact is, I'm loyal, cute, intelligent, short, smelly, fast as a "Flash" of lightning, goofy and cuddly. I love my family and whomever put my name in the hat for this award, I luv ya too. My Mommy and I are in shock but feel blessed this morning. I will only receive one of these on Dogster in my lifetime. I will never forget it.

Never to play in the hayfield again...

On May 28, 2009 Mommy took me to see our veternarian. For a week, Mommy thawght that I had an eye infection. Poor Mommy, she was worried sick and tried treating it herself. Sometimes, human medicine just don't work all that well for us pups but hey, it was the thawght that counted. So, my eye was getting worse and worse and Mommy finally made me an appointment at my vet's office. She had to go to work that day so she dropped me off and she was so worried that I might think she wasn't coming back to get me. And hey, I had it made...of course Mommy doesn't know this but the nurses were beau-ti-ful. They pampered me and talked baby talk to me and I ate it up...BOL! Getting back to my eye now, my veternarian discovered that I had a large grass seed in my upper eyelid and it had scratched my cornea. This grass seed (Mommy and Daddy believe) came from our hayfield from where I run and chase rabbits. I can't help it...rabbit hunting is in my blood. You have to remember, I'm part Basset Hound. But Daddy came to my vet's office and the nurses were weally bragging on me. They thought that I was weally cute and smart. One nurse had me doing twicks and another nurse didn't want to see me leave. Ok, pawleese don't think that I'm being conceited...but the nurses made me feel proud of who I am and I'm a Basset Hound/Chinese Shar-Pei mix. I'm Flash........and proud of it! SHA-ZAM!

I smell like a skunk...blah!!!

Tonight while my Mommy was cooking dinner, I was out chasing a skunk. Wow, I thought that a skunk would taste similar to a ribeye steak but I never got the chance to eat it...shucks!!! Before I could get a bite, it sprayed me right in my face and then I take off running with my tail tucked between my legs. Mommy let me back in the house and as soon as I came in, she was chasing me to take me back out. I was camped out on the deck until she could find something to take the skunk odor away. She washed me in a mixture of apple cider and water, then a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and doggie shampoo and then Dawn dishwashing liquid. And poor mama...while she's scrubbing away on me, it's pouring down rain...BOL!!! That's what she gets for scrubbing me half to death.But thanks to that ole skunk, I've never been so clean and refreshed!!!

Hiking at Greeter Falls in Tennessee

We had so much fun today hiking...my MOM, DAD, AUNT LARAE & UNCLE BRIAN took me to Greeter Falls in Tennessee on a hiking trip and the stuff I saw was amazing. We saw 3 huge waterfalls and the water tasted so good...WOOF!!! MOM and DAD have taken me there before so I have seen all these waterfalls but every time I go it's like seeing it for the first time again. My MOM and DAD are the greatest for letting me experience nature and just spending time with them. Thanks MOM and DAD...I love ya!!!
